Publication Ethics and Malpractice

The publication of an article in a peer reviewed journal has been tremendous demand from academics, researchers, industries etc. in last
few years. In this connection, International Geoinformatics Research and Development Journal (IGRDJ) with a strong confident and
ambition believes that sharing-knowledge and contributing with the people around the world through journal publications will bring
development for society. IGRDJ publishes research papers, review papers, technical papers, case studies papers and project consulting
& industry papers with high quality of standard in which have not been published yet. It is necessary to agree upon standards and quality
of ethical and malpractice behavior of all people involved in the act of publishing. They are: the author, the editors, the editor in chief, the
reviewers, publisher and the readers.

IGRDJ also publishes informative high quality papers which are selected by international committee’s workshops, conferences and
seminars that have a significant contribution to the society and people in general.

Our ethics statements are based on Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines which presented as follows:

Publication and authorship:

. Waterloo Institute for Disaster Management (WIDM) has allocated financial support to publish IGRDJ
. The editor in chief and editorial board at anytime evaluate manuscripts for their intellectual content without regard to race, sexual,
gender, religious belief, orientation, ethnic origin, citizenship or political philosophy of the author/authors
. All manuscripts whether accepted or rejected will be WIDM-IGRDJ property
. All the copyrights are reserved and with the publisher of the journal.
. The work should be an original and in a good standard and completely MUST be followed by IGRDJ instruction and format
. IGRDJ also publishes informative high quality papers
. We accept papers only in English language. English spelling and punctuation are proffered and papers must be written by a native
English speaker or a native English speaker has to improve paper
. There is no plagiarism in IGRDJ. We are very strict on plagiarism and all submitted papers must pass by our plagiarism software
. Papers submit to IGRDJ at least must have title, affiliation and address of the author/authors, abstract, introduction, research method
and data analysis, results and discussion, conclusion, acknowledgement and list of references.
. A high quality of papers will make readers easy to read papers published with IGRDJ
. Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of
the reported study.
. Authorship should have made significant contribution and should be listed as co-authors
If there are others who have participated in certain substantive aspect of the research project, must be acknowledged or listed as
. Forbidden to publish same research in more than one journal.

Author's responsibilities:

. If author/authors decide withdrawing paper at anytime, he/she must inform Editor in Chief at least a month before publication processes
. Author/authors are welcome to send us email at anytime to confirm whether his/her paper fits within the scope of the journal or not
. If paper is accepted by the editorial board, IGRDJ coordinator will contact author/authors for corrections and revise version with an
acceptance letter
. If paper is rejected by the editorial board, IGRDJ coordinator contacts author/authors informing with the comments and reasons of
. Author/authors can re-submit paper once he/she feels paper has been improved based on the reviewers comments. This process may
take 15 days
. Author/authors are welcome to communicate with Editor in Chief at anytime during the processes and after the processes
. Based on IGRDJ policy if the paper accepted for publication then author/authors must fill out the IGRDJ’s publication policy agreement
(PPA). The publication policy agreement will be provided to the author/authors once he/she receives an acceptance letter from IGRDJ.
Author/authors must declare that “the facts and views in the manuscripts are ours and we are totally responsible for authenticity,
validity and originality etc.” Author/authors must also declare that “I/we undertake and agree that the manuscripts submitted to
IGRDJ have not been published elsewhere and have not been simultaneously submitted to other journals. I / We also declare
that manuscripts are our original work and we have not copied from anywhere else. There is no plagiarism in our
. Author/authors must acknowledge the research that he/she has done it
. Author/authors should be asked for any information and raw data they have mentioned in the paper and all references should be
provided to the editor in chief upon request
. Fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate statement constitute unethical behavior and are unacceptable
. The corresponding author must ensure that all appropriate co-authors and no inappropriate co-authors are included on the paper
. All co-authors have to approve the final version of the paper and must agree to its submission for the publication
. All authors must disclose in their manuscripts and financial or other substantive conflict that might be constructed to influence the
results or interpretation of their manuscripts. All sources of financial and soul properties support for the project should be disclosed
. Authors are obliged to participate in IGRDJ’s instruction and peer review processes and respect the decision made by the editor in chief
. Author/authors should state for all the data that have been provided
. Corresponding author is responsible to provide retractions or correction of mistakes and respect the schedule of the time line of IGRDJ
. When an author discovers a significant error in his/her own work, it is the author’s obligation to promptly notify the journal editor in chief
or publisher and cooperate with the editor to reflect or correct the paper.

Peer review / responsibility for the reviewers:

. Editors and reviewers responsible to make sure that the paper’s importance, originality, and clarity, and the study’s relevant to the remit
of the journal
. Evaluate and review paper by reviewers and/or any of the editorial boards within 15 days period base on the paper and comment review
form provided by IGRDJ
. Receive of the Comments Form reviewers and/or two of the editorial boards by the Editor in Chief
. Fast communication and assist editors and authors in improving the paper
. Reviewers must present a reasonable objectives for the judgment of manuscripts
. Reviewers should have no conflict of interest with respect to the research, the authors and/or the research funders
. Reviewers should identify the relevant published works that has not been cited by the author/authors yet
. The manuscript sent to reviewers and should be treated confidentially and may not disclose to the author/authors unless it is required
. A reviewer should also call to the editor’s attention any substantial similarity or overlap between the manuscript under consideration and
any other paper published paper

Editorial responsibilities: 

. The editors and editor in chief of the journal (IGRDJ) is responsible for deciding which articles that submitted to the journal should be
published. The right is with the editor in chief of the journal.
. The editors and editor in chief follow the policies of the journal and constrained by such legal requirements as shall then be in force
regarding libel, copyright infringement and plagiarism. The editor in chief may communicate with the editorial board or reviewers for
confirmation and final decision for publishing papers
. Editor in Chief makes decision on appointing an editor to receive paper and distribute among at least two potential reviewers
. Editors are happy to take responsibilities on needs of readers and authors
. Improving journal time to time, increase the quality of the papers for publication
. Maintaining the integrity of the academic record
. Champion freedom of expression with IGRDJ and a fast communications with authors and make sure that all correction, clarification
and other necessaries for publication are well managed
. Editor’s decisions on whether paper accepted or rejected for publication
. Editors shall accept a paper reasonably and must have confident on the quality of paper in all sense
. Editors should have no any conflicts of interest with respect to article reject or accept
. If the editors find any mistake on the paper, immediately have to report to the author/authors for corrections
. Editors must have preserve anonymity of reviewers and respect any complaints given by the author/authors
. All information about the submitted manuscripts are confidential and shall not disclose to anyone except corresponding author/authors,
editors, reviewers and publisher

Publishing ethics issues:

. Ensure the quality of the material fits the IGRDJ standard and meet the IGRDJ’s instruction, guidelines and format
. Once a final decision made on a paper by the Editor in Chief, the paper will be forwarded to the publishing section for designing,
formatting etc and publication
. During this time, if any problems arise, the publishing section communicate with author/authors in order to cope with the corrections,
clarifications, retractions and apologies when needed
. IGRDJ is a peer review journal and ensure that manuscript submitted to IGRDJ remain confidential at all time
. IGRDJ welcomes any complaints and make sure it is set out within Committee On Publication Ethics
. Publisher is responsible for monitoring/safeguarding publishing ethics by editorial board
. Publisher must follow the IGRDJ’s instruction and guidelines for publishing papers
. Maintaining the integrity of the academic record
. All involved bodies are responsible to publish corrections, clarifications, retractions and apologies when need
. Publisher must confirm the submitted paper does not have plagiarism and fraudulent data
. Preclude business needs from compromising intellectual and ethical standards
